Ever wanted to try fondant but have been too scared of it? No Fear! This recipe, is 100%, and 100% EASY! But don’t plan on doing any wedding cakes with your first attempt, it’s not that easy.

I used an online recipe that I found flawless, so give it a go!
- 1 cup light corn syrup
- cup shortening
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon clear vanilla extract
- 2 pounds confectioners’ sugar
If you’re using an electric mixer, use the hook attachment and gradually add your confectioners sugar. Continue adding until you find ingredients have come together in an dough like substance. It should be very easy to work with, so if you find it sticky continue to add more confectioners sugar.
This was a cake that I did for fun one day.
Tip:Use jell food colouring instead of liquid to colour your fondant.
